Looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, but you don’t want to stray too far from the gay community. Then it’s time you give an LGBTQ+ campground a visit. You can get a classic camp experience, just a bit more gay than usual. We have created a list of the five best campgrounds in North America for you to visit next summer.

Sawmill Campgrounds

Sawmills campground is one of the more lively gay and lesbian campgrounds in the USA. Located in Florida, roughly an hour from Universal Studio’s Orlando. The resort is clothing-optional in select areas allowing you to feel truly one with nature. Accommodation types range from places to pitch tents or park your RV, to lodge cabins that you can rent for the week.

Onsite you can find four bars, a nightclub, a swimming pool, and various activities such as volleyball or hiking paths. Sawmills campground also hosts regular events and performances, such as comedy shows, drag gigs, leather weekends, and a whole lot more.
